Frequently Asked Questions

The e-Visa for Myanmar is an online visa issued by the Government of Myanmar to travel to Myanmar for touristic or business purposes. It was officially launched in April, 2012, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Myanmar.

Applying for a tourist or business visa online has many advantages; as you do not need to visit the embassy because you are making the order online, you are avoiding long lines while waiting for your electronic visa to be done. The online process is more secure, faster, simpler, and allows to have your eVisa in hand before arriving to Myanmar. The only thing you need is a computer with Internet connection, and you can apply for eVisa whenever and wherever you are.

Depending on the type of visa you require you may need the following documents:

- Current passport valid for at least six (6) months with at least one empty page

- A recent passport-size photo in digital format (JPEG or PNG format)

- A valid credit card (Visa/MasterCard).

- Hotel Booking

Depending the type of entries you should be able to process one kind of visa or another according to your entry requirements. You can choose between single entry visa, 6 months multiple entry visa, 12 months multiple entry visa or 24 months multiple entry visa.
